Advanced Zoom Features

Beginning July 19th, "Waiting Rooms" will be enabled by default for all Zoom meetings. This will add a level of security to your Zoom meetings. You can allow all individuals with CLU email addresses into the meeting automatically. Anyone with an external email address will be placed in a waiting room waiting your approval.

To allow all CLU invitees into your meeting, from the web version https://clu.zoom.us - go to settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and turn on waiting rooms. The box that opens is the list of domains you automatically want to give access to. Simply place "callutheran.edu" in this box and CLU attendees will automatically be allowed to attend. Others will be selectively allowed in by the host.

Apple Announces iOS 14

iOS_14

Big news from Apple at the WWDC 2020 conference. They will soon release the latest version of iOS for your Apple devices. While an official release date hasn't been announced, if Apple stays true to form, we may see the release in September.

The new home screen will include "Widgets" and the widget gallery will allow you to choose clocks, Apple news, weather, calendar and more in a variety of sizes.

Another new feature is the App Library a better way to organize all your apps at the end of your home screen. At last, you can finally hide specific icons on the home screen.

Another change will be in the way you answer phone calls. Instead of an incoming call taking up your entire screen, the notification will now appear at the top of your screen. Siri has also been redesigned and notifications will no longer take up the whole screen.

There are also improvements in Maps, Emojis, Camera-picture in picture, smart home controls and privacy, and much more.

This is going to be one of the most significant upgrades in the iOS operating system in...well, a very long time.
