September 10, 2015
As part of our professional development series, representatives from Lynda.com will hold several informational sessions at the Thousand Oaks campus on September 17th. Lynda.com provides a vast library of on-demand video courses that can supplement textbooks and classroom instruction, promote computer literacy and provide professional development resources for faculty, staff and students. From course titles ranging from Teamwork Fundamentals to Global Strategy, and Excel Basics to Mobile App development, there’s a 10 minute or hour long video course to help get you up and running with a topic. The Lynda.com course library is available free of charge to all Cal Lutheran students, faculty and staff.
Lynda.com representatives will be on hand for the following sessions on September 17:
- A Lynda.com student-centric tent will be available from 10-11:30AM (possibly longer) near the flag pole. Staff and faculty are also welcome to visit.
- A faculty focused session during the faculty CTL lunch from 12:15-1:00 PM
- Two thirty-five minute drop-in sessions open to all staff and faculty will be held in the Pearson Library computer lab Rm. 130, from 2:00-2:35 and 2:45-3:20

Following are select new course offerings, which could easily have applications in the office, in the classroom or even at home. Lynda.com also offers a series of weekly Office tips under 10 minutes long including topics like “Top 5 Excel Shortcuts” and “Organizing Outlook Email”. Search for “Weekly Office Workshops”.
